This 2017 University of Tennessee Smokies bobblehead was a stadium give-away on August 19, 2017 and was a tribute to Todd Helton. The box indicates that Todd is "MLB All-Star & Gold Glover and that he hails from Knoxville, Tennessee. Helton graduated from Central High School and continued his education at the University of Tennessee where he received an athletic scholarship in both football and baseball. In baseball, Helton was awarded the Dick Howser Trophy and went on to be drafted 8th overall by the Colorado Rockies in the 1995 MLB Draft. Helton made his MLB debut on August 1st, 1997 where he recorded his first career hit and first career home run. After the 2013 season, Helton announced his retirement after 17 seasons with the Colorado Rockies. He is the first Rockies player to have his number retired in the team's 21-year history. On January 27, 2017, Helton returned to his alma mater and was named the Director of Player Development." The only way to get it was to have been at the game or bought it from someone who was there. SGA's are highly sought after because of the way they are distributed, not for sale, only at the games! The new bobblehead, which has never been on display comes with the original box that shows a little wear. Please review the photos.
The bat is removable from the figurine for packing.
